Position Summary: Dive Recompression Chamber Support personnel provide advanced technical maintenance and operational support for hyperbaric recompression chamber systems and associated equipment. Reporting to the Dive Department Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO), this position ensures all hyperbaric systems are maintained, certified, and fully operational in accordance with Navy directives. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance, inventory management, and system documentation. This role is vital to diver safety and mission success by ensuring reliable operation of recompression chamber systems and life support infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hyperbaric recompression chamber systems and associated equipment
• Maintain systems in accordance with Office of the Chief of Naval Operations Instruction (OPNAVINST) 4790 (series), NAVFAC, and NAVSEA guidance
• Maintain equipment including:
o Hyperbaric recompression chambers
o High-pressure air compressors
o Air, mixed gas, and oxygen piping systems
o MIL-F-22606 / American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) / Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). flasks and cylinders
• Ensure compliance with system certification authorities (NAVFAC and NAVSEA) and U.S. Navy Dive Manual standards
• Provide technical expertise for contracted maintenance activities on chamber systems
• Assist with maintenance of MK 25 Underwater Breathing Apparatus (UBA) and related systems
• Conduct spot inventories of diving and recompression equipment
• Perform equipment issue and receipt support functions
• Maintain and administer the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) SKED program as Work Center Supervisor
• Schedule and document maintenance actions in accordance with NAVSEA Instruction 4790.8 (series)
Required
Skills and Abilities
:
• Maintaining hyperbaric recompression chamber systems and associated equipment
• U.S. Navy Dive Manual, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) requirements
• Navy Dive School certification (Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 5342/5343 or higher)

• Must be able to operate Government vehicles and equipment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Must maintain high attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Must have knowledge of logistics and inventory systems
• Must be capable of operating within classified environments and systems (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) / Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET))
• Must comply with all safety, security, and workplace regulations
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment and components
• Capability to stand, bend, and work in industrial and confined environments for extended periods
• Ability to work safely around pressurized systems, gases, and oxygen-enriched environments
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to operate within hazardous environments requiring strict safety adherence
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
