Job Overview

General

Purpose:

This position provides administrative and technical support to the Director of Member Services and Outreach for the purpose of maximizing member satisfaction and member retention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
  • Track and gather data and other necessary information for preparing various reports in support of member related functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Member Services Specialist Duties
  • Perform administrative duties in support of Member Services including, but not limited to, member eligibility and enrollment issues and escalation to HHSC.
  • Assist with Value Added Service (VAS) Program and other incentives (backing, contracting, etc.).
  • Assist with member inquiries pertaining to all Value Added Service inquiries.
  • Assist with the ordering of Member State materials (TJ-ISteps and Texas Women’s Health Program).
  • Assign unique identifiers to each piece of member material/communication and manage the unique identifier database.
  • Ensure departmental files containing background documentation and appropriate approvals of all member and marketing materials are up to date (paper and electronic).
  • Ensure all member material is culturally appropriate, written in plain language, at a 6.0 reading level and translated, including newsletters, handbooks, general educational materials and targeted outreach material.
  • Assist with the content of member materials on the member website.
  • Maintain inventory of member materials to ensure adequate inventory is on hand for mailings.
  • Conduct HHSC marketing Paining when required.
  • Compose and type correspondence, reports and presentations as appropriate.
  • Assist with member notification letters and mailings.
Education and Experience

Two-year degree or Associate’s degree; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

High level of demonstrated computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other database skills.
