The purpose of this position is to perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Stone Writing Center.
Responsibilities- Assist students with sign‑in and computer, software, and hardware issues.
- Answer phones and students’ questions.
- Sign out and check in mobile devices/technology to students; monitor use of mobile devices/technology.
- Configure spaces for scheduled events.
- Assist in maintenance of instructor files and distribution of instructional materials.
- Meet regularly with supervisor.
- Assist the Director and Assistant Instructors with administrative tasks and special projects, as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training.
- Maintain orderliness and operation of the SWC (opening and closing, checking supplies, filing, administrative tasks, and flexibility in work hours to ensure adequate coverage).
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn additional computer software.
- Ability to communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.
