Section 504 Clerk
Education/Certification
Required:
High School graduate or equivalent
Experience
Required:
One year related work experience in an office setting

Function:
The Section 504 Clerk will complete all clerical duties related to Section 504 compliance, including scheduling and compiling all data for required meetings, monitoring student attendance, academics, and behavior regularly in both Section 504.
Reports To:
Campus Counselor
Responsibilities:
- Informing appropriate school staff of referrals for Section 504 evaluations and providing a written response to the request by sending a Section 504 Request for Evaluation and Consent form or Denial of Request for Section 504 Evaluation form within 10 days
- Gathering all required documentation for upcoming 504 meetings
- Maintains physical and electronic Section 504 records for students in the district data management programs and cumulative folders
- Distributes needed forms to parents to include, but not limited to, meeting notices, evaluations and plans
- Assist in scheduling Section 504 meetings by calling parents and sending invitations to staff and parents
- Ensuring compliance with district, state and federal law for Section 504
- Attend district Section 504 training with Administrator
- Assist in the promotion of positive community relations through effective email and phone communications with parents, teachers, administrators, and other district personnel
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times
- Meet all timelines as determined by the district
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training, as necessary
Working Conditions:
- Ability to receive and convey information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression
- Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards
- Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day
- Ability to see detailed information, naturally or with correction
