Position Summary Information

Under the direction of the Director - Corporate Services, the Workforce Grants Specialist performs a wide range of key functions necessary to workforce specific grant development, grant award execution and management, monitoring, and post-grant evaluation.

The Specialist will support the Dean, Directors, and Program Managers to obtain supporting data for grant proposals, analyze data, prepare reports, monitor performance, provide internal audits and recommendations, liaise with clients, and oversee the grant deliverables for assigned grant projects.

The Specialist will oversee the Coordinator and/or administrative support staff grant activities to ensure compliance and timely completion of deliverables. Serve as a point of contact for grant-related inquiries, providing assistance and information to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree AND three (3) years related experience.

Five (5) years related experience.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt with ambiguity and constant change in fast growing business.
  • Skilled in client interaction.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of other programs including but not limited to:
    Adobe Acrobat, Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

    Ability to assimilate data, analyze/report information to support decision making.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with workforce development grants.
  • Knowledgeable of Datatel/Colleague.
  • Experience with Texas Workforce Commission systems.
  • Experience in Higher Education.
