Adjunct - Respiratory Therapy Pool

Position Summary

ADJUNCT – RESPIRATORY THERAPY:
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline. Teach assigned courses at various times and locations, including online, dual-credit, and early college classes. Continuously improve instructional quality by developing and using diverse teaching methods and materials that support students with varied educational and experiential backgrounds. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

• Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy.
• Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Texas Association of Respiratory Care (TSRC) and American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) memberships (other related professional memberships may substitute).
• Three (3) years of clinical work experience.

• Ability to teach and communicate with students from varied multicultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods that enhance student success.
• Knowledge of a learning college and/or learning communities.

• Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.
• Experience teaching college-level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).

• Assign and supervise students in the lab setting or provide instruction in classroom and lab settings.
• Advise students throughout clinical hours as needed.
• Grade student weekly papers and evaluate students as needed in each class.
