AttachmentsJob Description This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in adult education programs, including GED preparation, ESL, and digital literacy, while also facilitating distance learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching adults, familiarity with educational software platforms, and the ability to navigate digital learning environments effectively.
Education Qualifications:Bachelor's in Education, Adult Education, ESL, or related field (preferred)Master's degree (preferred)Experience:Experience teaching adults in GED preparation, ESL, digital literacy, or workforce development programs.Proficiency in using educational software platforms such as Aztec Software, Burlington English, Essential Education, and North Star Digital Literacy.Familiarity with distance learning tools and platforms, including My One Flow and TEAMS.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate adult learners from diverse backgrounds.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for classroom instruction and online interactions.Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.Knowledge of adult education best practices, curriculum development, and instructional technology integration.Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and strategies based on student needs and program goals.Comfortable with technology and troubleshooting technical issues related to online learning platforms.Special Knowledge and Skills:Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and inMust possess excellent organizational, planning, and human relationsMust have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with adult learners, specialists, program managers, school administration, and business/community partnerStrong Math and Science backgroundMust demonstrate a commitment and ability to serve a diverse community, including low-income families and English language learners.Self-motivated and able to work at a standalone satelliteAbility to manage and maintain a professional classroom, providing instruction to adult participants whose basic skills are below the twelfth grade level.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Plan and deliver engaging lessons in GED preparation, ESL, digital literacy, and other adult education subjects.Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult learners.Incorporate technology tools and resources into lessons to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Facilitate distance learning programs using online platforms such as Zoom and possibly others such as BlackboardEnsuring smooth implementation and support for remote learners.Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance to students and instructors participating in online courses.Monitor student progress in distance learning programs and provide timely feedback and support.Utilize educational software platforms including Aztec Software, Burlington English, Essential Education, and North Star Digital Literacy to support instruction and student learning.Stay updated on software features, updates, and best practices for integrating technology into adult education programs.Collaborate with program coordinators and instructional design team to develop and adapt curriculum materials aligned with program objectives and standardsImplement formative and summative assessments to measure student learning progress and achievement.Analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions and individualize learning experiences for students.Proficient in My One Flow and TEAMSProvide academic and social-emotional support to adult learners, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.Conduct individualized student assessments, track attendance, and maintain accurate records in TEAMS and other data management systems.Collaborate with community partners and support services to connect students with resources for academic and personal success.Specific Responsibilities and Duties:Individual must possess knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment appropriate for instructing adult learners in obtaining a GED®, Career Readiness Certificate, and Digital Literacy credentials.Possess working skills in the use of technology to deliver Distance Education instruction, communicate via email and teach basic computer skills to the adult learnerSalary:
