GRANT-FUNDED CONSTRUCTION TRADES INSTRUCTOR POOL
Position Summary:
The instructor is responsible for providing classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment in building maintenance and related construction fields. Courses cover safety, hand/power tool use, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and construction technology.
- Deliver classroom instruction, coaching, and assess student progress.
- Develop and use varied teaching methods and materials for diverse learners.
- Provide written, accessible course syllabi following Course Syllabus Guidelines.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and community.
- Review, evaluate, and revise assessments of program and student learning outcomes to implement improvement plans and assure compliance with professional standards, state-mandated guidelines, and industry/education requirements.
- Associate Degree in Building Maintenance or related construction fields.
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
- Knowledge and commitment to teaching strategies that enhance student success.
- Knowledge of learning communities.
- Ability to plan course instruction based on approved syllabus.
- Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles, accommodating diverse learning styles.
- Successful college teaching experience.
- Experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources, and other media.
- Ability to teach and communicate with students from varied multicultural backgrounds.
- Bachelor's Degree in Building Maintenance or related field.
