Overview
The Home Visitation (HV) Support Technician will implement the Home Instruction of Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) model by maintaining a caseload of up to 20 families as required by the grant. Responsibilities include executing the HIPPY curriculum with parents of preschoolers, role playing the curriculum, meeting with assigned families each week, participating in planning and facilitating group meetings, supplying enrichment activities, participating in weekly in-service training and staff development, and informing the HIPPY coordinator of child/family progress and related issues and concerns.
Timely compliance with the HIPPY USA grant, caseload, and related documentation is critical.
- Execute the HIPPY curriculum with parents of preschoolers and role play the curriculum.
- Meet with assigned families each week and participate in planning and facilitation of group meetings.
- Supply enrichment activities and participate in weekly in-service training and other staff development activities.
- Inform the HIPPY coordinator of child/family progress and related issues and concerns.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 20 families or as determined by grant requirements.
- Complete daily tasks required by the job and participate in all HIPPY-sponsored activities (field trips, graduations, award ceremonies, professional development, etc.).
- Assist consultants in the preparation of materials and professional development trainings.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead small groups of young students in learning activities.
- Assist with program goals and activities of the ESC 2; assist with communication related to activities and promotion of ESC 2.
- Maintain program inventory and assist with the instructional units creation, packaging, delivery preparation, and inventory maintenance.
- Execute and role-play the HIPPY curriculum with parents of preschoolers.
- Education
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED;
National Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or Associate Degree in Child Development preferred. - Experience:
Experience working with young children in a group setting preferred.
