Job Description Summary
ADJUNCT – CHEMISTRY (BASIC):
The purpose of this position is to teach lower-division, non-majors and Health-Science Chemistry courses and laboratories in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.
- Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.
- Success college teaching experience in Chemistry.
- Successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
- Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
- Maintain safe and secure laboratories with an emphasis in safety in all laboratory courses taught.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, specimens, and equipment.
- Perform other related duties within the department as assigned.
