Start Date   05/28/2026## Overview Level Experienced Position  Type Full Time Category Education ## Description Most Precious Blood Catholic School in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking an elementary teacher to teach 3rd grade for the  academic year.  The Catholic school teacher will adhere to the NCEA Code of Ethics for the Catholic school teacher, which specifies the attitude and the practice of the teacher in relation to the student, the parent, the community, and the profession.

Ministerial Character:

The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him.  In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community.  In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people.  He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities.  Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.

Responsibilities:

The teacher will form the whole child-spiritually, intellectually, socially, morally, and physically in a Christ-centered environment. The teacher will be able to provide engaging instruction, possess a high level of content knowledge and model all to achieve success.  Effective classroom management is essential.

* As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life
* Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church
* Continuously grows in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
* The teacher encourages and supports students to achieve maximum potential in spiritual and academic growth.
* The teacher maintains a sound disciplinary program that provides direction and positive attitudes.
* The teacher maintains a functional, organized, and positive classroom which maximizes learning.
* The teacher shows evidence of planning and preparing for classroom instruction.
* The teacher utilizes a variety of teaching strategies in the delivery of instruction.
* The teacher evaluates student learning.
* The teacher exhibits knowledge of subject matter(s).
* The teacher utilizes principles of motivation and reinforcement.
* The teacher demonstrates professional attitudes, responsibilities and pursues professional growth.
* The teacher supports administration, school programs, communicates effectively with parents, works collaboratively with colleagues, promotes the school and its mission in a positive light, and helps to build community and connection in the school community and diocese.
* The teacher will be required to sponsor one after school club.
* The teacher will perform other duties as assigned.

* Maintain confidentiality## Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 12 credit hours in education
* Teaching experience preferred
* Agree to work on Catechist Certification

Skills:

* Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
* Knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods and strategies, curriculum differentiation and proficiency in technology applications.
* Ability to work well with others in the school community.

Additional Requirements:

* Valid Texas Driver’s License
* Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
* Certified in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
* Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
* Must be at least 21 years old.
