Grant-Funded Orientation Lead GED Prep Programs

Position Summary

The orientation coordinator serves as the students’ initial contact with the Adult Education – high school equivalency prep program. They conduct presentations, explain and clarify program services, requirements, intake forms. They follow up with students to ensure completion of intake forms, attendance for testing, and registration into a course. They assist with administrative tasks such as closing out student orientation grades in Colleague and following up with inquiries for new students.

• Associate Degree
• Six months related experience

• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to lead presentations and speak with groups
• Proficient with computers
• Attention to detail

• Bilingual
• Skilled or trained in public speaking or relations

• Conduct weekly orientations for Adult Education high school equivalency prep grant program, using existing presentation and required forms. Address student questions during orientation, providing follow up information as needed.
• Contact students after orientation to ensure that all participants provide required documentation, complete tests, and successfully enroll in and attend courses.
• Outreach, promote and communicate with potential students to direct them to available orientations.
• Complete administrative tasks pertaining to the documentation of orientations, including maintaining and turning in sign in sheets, logging orientation attendance, and reviewing all student documents for accuracy and completion.
