Position SummaryThe Peer Tutor facilitates learning as a guide to assist the student to become a successful, independent learner. The purpose of tutoring is to increase and enhance master of concepts or applications of a specific course of study. Tutors integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize the learners potential for academic progress.
Minimum QualificationsEarned a grade of at least “B” in content area to be tutored.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Basic keyboarding
- Use of Canvas (Learning Management System)
Prior tutoring experience.
Job Duties- Assist students in targeted subject areas via individual or group tutoring.
- Host workshops on selected topics.
- Model and encourage collaborative study strategies.
- Create and manage resources.
- Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment.
- Meet regularly with supervisor.
