Job Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Continuing Education Court Reporting courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes within the College grade and grade appeals procedures.
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
- Maintain daily attendance rosters. Input final student grades. Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to Career Training in the Continuing Education Department.
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Ability to evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
- Ability to prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for students in class.
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Ability to utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources, and other appropriate media instruction.
- Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline, provided to ensure course content and objectives are met.
- Previous experience teaching/conducting a course/program in a post-secondary setting.
- Prior experience with CANVAS.
- Experience developing curriculum.
- Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) issued by Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBCC).
- Ensure class instruction meets Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) Certification and industry standards.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
- Maintain and submit daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department by department deadlines.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes within college policy and procedures.
- Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
