Program Coordinator – STEAM Summer Academy (Position Overview)
The Program Coordinator for a STEAM Summer Academy is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing a dynamic, hands‑on learning program in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The role provides leadership and support to instructors and instructional assistants, ensuring engaging and standards‑aligned instruction across all classrooms. It includes managing daily operations, scheduling, materials, student supervision, and maintaining a safe and structured environment while acting as the central point of communication for staff, students, and families.
Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate daily STEAM program schedules, activities, and logistics.
- Support instructors and paraprofessionals to ensure high‑quality instruction.
- Monitor classroom environments to promote student engagement, safety, and integration.
- Organize and manage instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervise students to ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
- Provide guidance and feedback to staff to improve lesson delivery and classroom management.
- Address and resolve student, staff, or operational issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with district/college policies, safety procedures, and program expectations.
- Track attendance, participation, and overall program performance.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families regarding program updates and needs.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements for future sessions.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- One (1) year program or office coordination experience.
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Services or a similar related field preferred.
