Function:
The Secondary SCE Paraprofessional III works under the supervision of the principal and under the immediate direction of the designated teachers(s). Although the paraprofessional's direct contact with at risk students is a priority, the paraprofessional also generally assists the teacher(s) in the planning and conducting of instructional activities and in the developing and managing of materials and equipment for use with students at risk of dropping out of school due to unsatisfactory academic performance.

Responsibilities:
Plans with the classroom teacher(s) to provide ongoing instructional activities for a flexible instructional program that meets the needs of identified at risk students. Administers diagnostic and evaluative instruments to individual students and small groups of identified at risk students to determine student skill needs and progress. Prepares, organizes, and manages materials and equipment according to daily lesson plans to meet the skill needs of identified at risk students.
Reinforces skills previously presented by the classroom teacher(s) with individuals or groups of identified at risk students. Assists with the integration of technology into the curriculum. Maintains records of identified at risk students. Maintains a daily working schedule as determined by the teachers and paraprofessional. Performs other duties pertaining to identified at risk students as assigned.
