Grant‑Funded Orientation Coordinator - ESL Pool
Position Type:
Part‑Time (Non‑Exempt). Salary: $18.00 per hour. Open until filled.
The orientation coordinator serves as the students’ initial contact with the Adult Education – English as a Second Language program. Responsibilities include conducting orientation presentations, explaining program services and requirements, clarifying intake forms, and ensuring students complete all necessary documentation and testing. The coordinator also follows up with students to confirm course registration, maintains orientation records in Colleague, and addresses any inquiries from new students.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree.
- Six (6) months of related experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to lead presentations and speak to groups.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Attention to detail.
- Bilingual.
- Skilled or trained in public speaking or relations.
- Conduct weekly orientations for the Adult Education ESL grant program, using existing presentations and required forms, and address student questions during orientation.
- Contact students after orientation to ensure submission of all required documentation, completion of tests, and successful enrollment and attendance in courses.
- Outreach, promote, and communicate with potential students to direct them to available orientations.
- Complete administrative tasks related to orientation documentation, including maintaining and submitting sign‑in sheets, logging orientation attendance, and reviewing all student documents for accuracy and completeness.
