Responsibilities- Teach assigned Medical Terminology courses at various times and locations to meet institutional needs, continuously improving instruction quality.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials, accommodating students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes and recommend effective learning materials.
- Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows guidelines and clearly outlines content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods, and schedule of work.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
- Maintain daily attendance rosters, input final student grades into WebDMC, and submit hard copies of attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.
- Three (3) years experience teaching Medical Terminology or two (2) years experience as an RN or LVN.
- Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline to ensure course content and objectives are met.
- Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
- Utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources, and other appropriate media in instruction.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Higher education teaching experience.
- Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum for instruction.
