Qualifications:
Working with children in Physical Ed. Experience in working with children Understand and responds to the need of young children. Interprets and follows instructions. Is able to relate well with school personnel, parents, and the community. Demonstrates creativity and initiative when required. Is able to organize and lead physical education activities.
Function:
Assist the Principal in the implementation of the elementary physical education program. Primary responsibilities include working with the itinerant physical education teacher to implement the district's program.

Responsibilities:
Works cooperatively with the other paraprofessionals in planning and implementing the District's physical education program under the direction of the principal, the itinerant physical education teacher, and the elementary physical education consultant. Supervises students both before and after school as assigned by the building principal. Prepares and follows yearly and daily lesson plans for both the outdoor and indoor physical education program.
Fulfills specified organizational procedures such as:
Establishing an organizational plan for instruction. Preparing the equipment, playground, and indoor activity area for class activities. Establishing class rules and expectations with the pupils. Establishes specific discipline procedures that are to be utilized when behavioral expectations of the students are not socially and/or physically appropriate. Executes appropriate safety and accident procedures, such as:
Identifying students with specific health and learning problems that limit their participation in physical education. Supervising the students at all times during physical education classes. Reporting unusual problems and accidents to the principal immediately. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal, elementary physical education consultant and/or itinerant physical education teacher.
Salary: ISUP/503: $14.41 minimum/hour (individual salary calculation is based on applicable experience) See the CCISD Salary Schedule handbook for information regarding initial salary placement. Days: 187
