Position Summary
Teach assigned Continuing Education Dispatch courses at various times and locations to meet institutional needs. Continuously advance the quality of instruction by employing a variety of teaching methods and materials that accommodate students’ diverse educational and experiential backgrounds. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community while upholding classroom environments conducive to learning. Evaluate student progress and submit daily attendance rosters and final grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department.
Minimum Qualifications- Five (5) years of experience working as a dispatcher.
- Approved International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) Instructor certification or willingness to become certified.
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Previous experience teaching or conducting courses in a post‑secondary setting.
- Prior experience with CANVAS.
- Experience developing curriculum.
- Evaluate student performance and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.
- Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Utilize instructional technologies, such as computers and internet resources.
- Plan course instruction based on approved syllabi and outlines to meet objectives.
- Ensure instruction meets IAED and industry standards.
- Teach assigned courses at varied times and locations per institutional schedule.
- Maintain and submit daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department by deadline.
- Evaluate students to measure progress toward stated course outcomes within college policy.
- Continuously improve the quality of instruction.
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use learning materials.
- Develop and use teaching methods and materials for students with diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
