Position Summary
The successful applicant will be expected to assist faculty/staff with quality instruction in all phases of welding and related areas including but not limited to manufacturing, fabrication, inspection and safety. The applicant will demonstrate knowledge and abilities in the teaching discipline, participate in assigned courses across various times and locations in response to institutional need, make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction, and assist in the development and use of a variety of teaching methods and materials to meet students’ diverse educational backgrounds.
The applicant will maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community, assist in evaluating students’ progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes, and review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years documented welding experience in multi-groove welds in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective Skilled Trainer and have the aptitudes to assist both new and returning students achieve their educational goals and objectives.
- Associate’s Degree in Welding Technology and valid/current welders certifications.
- Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success.
- Experience teaching college level courses.
- Experience in providing quality instruction in all phases of welding and related areas including manufacturing, fabrication, inspection and safety.
