STUDENT ASSISTANT - PEER TUTOR - STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER POOL

The purpose of this position is to provide tutoring to facilitate learning and help students become independent learners. Tutors aid mastery of course concepts and integrate effective study strategies to maximize academic progress.

Salary: $12.36 – $15.45 per hour. Position type:
Student.

• Assist students in target subject areas via individual or group tutoring.
• Host workshops on selected topics and TSI Bootcamps/Workshops.
• Model and encourage collaborative study strategies.
• Create and manage study resources.
• Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment.
• Tutor students in TSI subject matter in both small and large group formats.

• Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
• GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Proficiency in course(s) hired to tutor as demonstrated with an earned grade of “A” or “B” in selected courses.
• Completion of at least 12 college credit hours.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to relate to students with various academic levels and needs.

• Relevant tutoring experience.
