Salary Range: $2,000.00 - $2,000.00 Salary/year
St. John Paul II Academy – High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking a Football Assistant Coach to help develop an athletic program under the leadership of the principal and athletic director. This position will help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship. This is a part‑time position.
Responsibilities- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church.
- Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Assist with the purchase of uniforms.
- Assist with the selection procedures of team members.
- Supervise games and community service projects.
- Assist with practices and games from August through November.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more.
- Ability to maintain composure under duress and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with diocesan policies and procedures.
- Valid Texas driver’s license required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.

- Ability to work independently and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and members of the community.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
- General use of computer hardware and basic office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge and experience in high school football curriculum and expectations.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Communicates effectively in oral and written form with both students and adults.
- Demonstrates responsibility, competence, and enthusiasm.
- Presents a positive model.
- Exhibits a willingness to devote necessary time outside of the school day to work with students.
- Reports to Athletic Director.
- This is a part‑time, non‑exempt position.
- Must successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review (MVR), and drug screening.
- Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is required.
- Must adhere to all Diocesan policies and procedures.
