Salary Range: $2,000.00 - $2,000.00 Salary/year

St. John Paul II Academy – High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking a Football Assistant Coach to help develop an athletic program under the leadership of the principal and athletic director. This position will help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship. This is a part‑time position.

Responsibilities
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic church.
  • Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
  • Assist with the purchase of uniforms.
  • Assist with the selection procedures of team members.
  • Supervise games and community service projects.
  • Assist with practices and games from August through November.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Mental/Physical Demands
  • Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more.
  • Ability to maintain composure under duress and maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with diocesan policies and procedures.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Knowledge and experience in high school football curriculum and expectations.

  • Demonstrates responsibility, competence, and enthusiasm.
  • Presents a positive model.
  • Exhibits a willingness to devote necessary time outside of the school day to work with students.
Position Information
  • Reports to Athletic Director.
  • This is a part‑time, non‑exempt position.
  • Must successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review (MVR), and drug screening.
  • Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is required.
  • Must adhere to all Diocesan policies and procedures.
