Position: ADULT BASIC EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR POOL

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview.

This is a grant funded position. Continuation of this grant funded position is contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds. There is no right or expectancy of continued employment beyond the terms of the employment agreement.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Adult Basic Education Instructor is responsible for ABE and/or GED instruction to adults, maintaining student portfolios and ensuring that all administrative responsibilities associated with the position are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

One (1) year experience in adult education.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/ outline provided to insure course content and objectives are met.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
  • Proficient in use of instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
Preferred Qualifications

Five (5) years experience working in a grant-funded program.
