Position Summary InformationJob Description Summary The purpose of this position is to assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of a group of young children and model for CDEC students’ appropriate teaching and care-giving practices.
This is accomplished by assisting in writing and implementing daily activity plans; by helping children with physical skills, self-esteem, social, cognitive, and communication skills and observing children for developmental milestones.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (Documentation of current certification is required within two weeks of employment).
- Food Handler’s Certificate (Documentation of current certification is required within two weeks of employment).

Knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards and developmentally appropriate teaching and care-giving practices for children 18 months through 4 years.
Work requires the use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization, including data entry, receptionist duties, customer service, word processing and general clerical duties.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in communicating with other staff, parents, and DMC students and faculty and in modeling appropriate language, vocabulary, and writing for children.
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
