Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS). The University seeks an innovative, collaborative, and strategic leader to build upon the College's strong foundation and guide its next phase of growth, impact, and excellence.
TAMU-CC is a vibrant doctoral-granting institution and a member of the Texas A&M University System. Located on its own island campus in Corpus Christi, the University enrolls approximately 11,350 students and is supported by more than 1,300 faculty and staff.
Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for the College and is responsible for all aspects of its leadership, including academic quality, strategic planning, enrollment growth, faculty and staff development, budgeting, accreditation, community engagement, research advancement, and fundraising. Working closely with University leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, healthcare partners, and donors, the Dean will articulate a compelling vision for the College while fostering a culture defined by collaboration, transparency, accountability, and student success.
CONHS plays a critical role in addressing the healthcare workforce needs of the Coastal Bend and the state of Texas. As the leading provider of health sciences education on the Texas Gulf Coast, CONHS serves approximately 1,600 students across a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing, health sciences, and public health. Recent additions, including bachelor's and master's programs in public health, reflect the College's commitment to responding proactively to emerging workforce demands and evolving community needs.
The successful candidate must have a record of success leading academic health professions programs, a record of accomplishments suitable for appointment as a full professor within one of the College's departments, and an earned doctorate appropriate to the disciplines in the College.
