The Experienced Wind Turbine Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Corpus Christi, TX. This role involves performing routine and corrective maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, to ensure safe and reliable operation. Daily responsibilities include climbing and working at height, conducting inspections, diagnosing and troubleshooting faults, and completing repairs in accordance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
The technician will document work performed, communicate findings and recommendations to site leadership, and collaborate with team members to optimize turbine performance and minimize downtime. The role may also involve supporting composite repairs, assisting with commissioning activities, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with evolving wind technology.
- Ability to work safely at height, including climbing wind turbine towers and performing tasks in confined or elevated spaces.
- Knowledge of wind energy systems and concepts, with experience in onshore and offshore wind environments preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components related to power generation equipment.
- Understanding of power generation principles and safe work practices around high‑voltage and rotating equipment.
- Prior experience as a wind turbine technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
- Solid grasp of safety standards and procedures, including lockout/tagout and use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and parts, and to work in varying weather conditions.
- Relevant technical certification or vocational training in wind technology, electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance; military or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
