Outage Manager

We’re partnering with a power generation organization seeking an experienced professional to lead the planning and execution of major plant outages and equipment overhauls. This role plays a critical part in ensuring generation assets are maintained safely, reliably, and cost-effectively.

You’ll be responsible for defining outage scope, building detailed schedules, coordinating materials and contract services, and overseeing execution through completion. The role also supports post-outage evaluation and continuous improvement across the generation fleet.

• Lead end-to-end outage and overhaul planning, from scope development through execution and closeout
• Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and shutdown backlogs to support on-time delivery
• Ensure strong safety performance and compliance with regulatory, labor, and corporate standards
• Coordinate contractors, internal maintenance teams, and engineering resources
• Identify outage-related risks and implement mitigation plans across safety, operations, and equipment
• Support post-outage testing, startup activities, and performance assessments
• Provide reporting and updates to plant leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in power generation operations or maintenance
• Experience with plant maintenance planning, outage management, or capital/O&M projects
• Strong planning, scheduling, and budgeting capabilities
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance modules and generation safety programs (including LOTO)
• Ability to lead complex maintenance events in demanding operating environments
