We are seeking a Rotating Mechanical Engineer to join our growing TSS team. This position is located at the Corpus Christi Plant in Ingleside, TX and reports to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.

This role will serve as a Plant Support Engineer for one or more areas of the Chemours Assets, providing overall Mechanical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance and Technology teams. Responsibilities include day‑to‑day troubleshooting, support for improvement programs in safety, uptime, reliability, cost, and new capital installations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting, maintaining and modifying operating equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and training to operating and maintenance teams.
  • Provide mechanical expertise for project work to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering standards and quality assurance.
  • Lead PSM criticality assessment process and development of the MIQA effort, including critical spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans and frequencies, and maintenance procedures.
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data and uptime data to recommend improvements that yield the lowest life‑cycle cost.
  • Lead and participate in Safety, Reliability and Quality investigations.
  • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks, sharing best practices, successes and failures.
  • Perform failure mode and effect analyses to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans, including predictive preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Support cost and capital projects, including scoping, justification and coordination of new/modified facility installations.
  • Maintain personal level of technical expertise in key technologies via training, seminars and professional organizations.
  • Provide shift and weekend coverage for start‑ups, tests, maintenance turnarounds or other non‑routine needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience with rotating equipment (degree‑related internship or co‑op experience may count).
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment principles, lubrication fundamentals, tribology, pumps principles, and mechanical seals.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data‑based decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer focus.
  • Prior experience with technical resources and/or field personnel in operational troubleshooting.
  • High initiative and flexibility to move projects safely and timely.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage short‑duration deadlines, emergencies and multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to wear required PPE such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong background in maintenance and reliability best practices including the work management process.
  • Fundamentals of interpreting oil analysis results, vibration analysis, statistical data interpretation and nondestructive testing.
  • Experience with rotating equipment such as air compressors or large industrial refrigeration equipment.
