EHSSupport is seeking a Principal/Technical Lead,Landfill sand Hydrology to support major projects across contaminated land assessment and remediation, waste and landfill management, hydrogeology, geochemistry, risk assessment, and regulatory permitting and compliance. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on technical expert with strong communications skills and a collaborative mindset. You will lead technical delivery, contribute to project strategy, support clients, and provide mentorship to junior team members.

This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand (working remotely) and with the option (depending on experience) to work more widely in the Asia Pacific Region.

Key Responsibilities

Developconceptualsitemodels,remedial strategies,andtechnicalreportsforregulatorysubmission.
Performandinterpretgeochemicalandhydrogeologicaldata,balancingpracticalprojectsolutionswithdefensiblescience
Lead projects(basedontechnicalareaofwork),includingcontaminatedsiteinvestigation/remediation,landfill assessments,environmentalmanagementandcompliance,andpermittingprojects
Overseeenvironmentalriskassessments,quantitative modelling,andcomplianceevaluations
Scope,plan,andmanagefieldprograms,subcontractors,anddatacollectionactivities
Engagedirectlywithclientstocommunicatefindings,strategy,risk,schedules,and deliverables
Prepare proposals,cost estimates,andprojectbudgets,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredontimeandwithinscope
Supportandleadtechnicalteams—providing mentorship,peer review,andknowledgetransfer
Coordinatewithmultidisciplinaryteamsacross

EHSSupport’sglobalbusinessunits
Maintainastronghealth&safetycultureinallfieldandtechnicalactivities

Qualifications

Bachelor’sdegreein

Environmental

Science,Geology,Hydrogeology,Environmental Engineering,orrelateddiscipline;

Master’spreferred
20+yearsoftechnicalconsultingexperiencesupportingcontaminatedland(includingriskassessment),landfill/waste management,mining,downstream oil&gas,industrial/manufacturing,and/orconstructionandinfrastructureclients
Technicalexpertisein atleastone ofthefollowing(two preferred)
Contaminatedlandinvestigation&remediation(includinggroundgasandvapour)
Activeandclosedlandfillmanagement,withafocusonleachateandlandfillgasmanagement
Geochemistryorhydro-geochemistry
Hydrogeology&groundwater assessment
Humanhealthorecologicalriskassessment
Environmentalmanagementandpermitting
