Senior Communications Technician (Corpus Christi) - 000GU4
The Senior Communications Technician will provide regional telecommunications field support for Enterprise Products Partners L.P. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently and support a variety of communication systems across a large geographic area. The technician will provide direct support of local projects, preventative maintenance, fault isolation, troubleshooting, and 24‑hour on‑call support. They will also provide first‑level training to field operations personnel.
Responsibilities- Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting for various types of communication systems such as voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and satellite equipment and the supporting infrastructure.
- Assist the projects group with the implementation of project‑related systems.
- Direct local contractors engaged in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems.
- Provide first‑level training of field operations personnel.
- Act as the first‑level liaison between field operations and the IT organization.
- Drive field standards and provide feedback to the communications engineering team.
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience in the field of Electronics required.
- FCC license preferred.
- Network certification such as CCNA is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of telecommunications systems, including wireless data systems, SCADA, and LAN cabling systems required.
- Proven experience with phone system and microwave communications systems installation and maintenance a plus.
- Ability to utilize test equipment and software required to support telecommunications systems in the field.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize assigned activities.
- Ability to interact with internal and external teams/clients to solve problems.
- Physical ability to work outdoors and operate a motor vehicle safely and effectively.
