Process Engineer

Process Engineer – Flint Hills Resources, Corpus Christi, TX

Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Process Engineer for our refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The selected candidate will be a key member of the Process Engineering Department and will collaborate with Business Teams to develop and implement solutions that optimize unit performance and create value.

• Develop value‑creation ideas and perform economic analyses for assigned units and technologies.
• Lead unit health metrics, troubleshooting and optimization, including:
  • Utilizing unit monitoring tools and programs.
  • Owning the operating envelope program.
  • Analyzing HX cleaning monitoring and performance.
  • Providing unit troubleshooting support.
  • Validating LP vectors and LP model assumptions.
• Lead chemical and catalyst performance and process cost management, including:
  • Owning the unit catalyst plan and catalyst health.
  • Owning the chemical additive selection.
• Participate in turnaround programs as a technical scoping, support, and execution resource.
• Direct and assist Operations with the design of experiments and process guidelines.
• Own Solomon data and gap analysis.
• Contribute to process safety and environmental performance through PHA, MOC, and investigations.

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience.

• Five or more years of refinery or chemical plant experience.
• Experience on a refining process or chemicals processing unit.
• Proficiency with process modeling simulation (e.g., Aspen HYSYS).
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams.
