Responsibilities
  • The position of Credit Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing credit information on current and potential borrowers; determines the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans; assists loan officers in writing loan requests; promotes business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. Assures compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Assist loan officers in performing cash flow analysis and identifying the strengths and/or weaknesses of a loan request.
  • Prepare detailed Excel spreadsheets reflecting an applicant’s ability to repay a loan.
  • Maintain log of pending loan requests.
  • Collaborate with loan officer to write detailed loan package to present to various committees; ensure loan is conforming to bank polices and/or identify policy exceptions. Distribute loan packages to the appropriate committee for approval. Upon approval, inform appropriate staff.
  • Maintain detailed reports of approved loans and other various reports that are presented to loan committees. Maintain attendance and prepare minutes of Officer Loan Committee (OLC) and Director Loan Committee (DLC) meetings.
  • Obtain and/or prepare various reports needed for board meetings.
  • Provide notification of files available for upload to Administrative Officer.
  • Assist as needed with third-party loan reviews and regulatory exams.
  • Represent the bank in various community events to further enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business.
  • Fulfill deadlines, work productively in groups and individually, work extended hours occasionally, and travel to various bank locations and training activities as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Accounting or finance college degree preferred.
    • Proficient in interpreting financial statements and tax returns.
    • Must have advanced computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Strong skills to include analyzing, problem-solving, and communicating (verbal and written).
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
