We are looking for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist - Acute Bay Area to be a part of our team. This role provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute care environment.
Job Summary and Qualifications- The Speech Therapist provides individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments.
- The Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals.
- The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues.
- Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
- Administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities.
- Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
- Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
- Document progress in patient’s chart and complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
- Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
- Licensed (SLP) Speech‑Language Pathologist in the state of Texas.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech therapy program.
- 1‑2 years experience in an acute care facility preferred (post CF year); no new grads.
- MBS experience required.
- NICU experience a plus.
