The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly
General Description
Under the immediate supervision of the Mental Health Director, performs moderately complex Management, utilizing initiative and independent judgement. Responsible Diversion Center Operations. The Diversion Center Director leads the planning, operations, compliance, and performance management of the Diversion Center an alternative location for crisis intervention and/or for law enforcement to drop off adults (18+) with mental illness or co-occurring disorders (COPSD) who are at risk of arrest and do not meet criteria for an acute crisis.
The Director oversee contract(s) and ensures delivery of required services (screening, crisis assessment, safety monitoring, medication management, and continuity of care/linkage) and that program activities fulfill HHSC's Mental Health Grant for Justice-Involved Individuals (MHGJII and quarterly performance reporting requirements.) The role supports the MHGJII goals (reduce recidivism, arrests, incarcerations; reduce forensic wait times) and utilizes the Sequential Intercept Model.
Responsible for program development, auditing quality of standards outlined in building safety codes, monitoring consumers' care, assuring maximum billable services, and managing the unit budget. Maintains compliance of standards Joint Commission, Medicaid, OPM, and HHSC. Responsible for working in consultation with and cooperation with the Mental Health and Medical Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed in the state of Texas or a reciprocity state as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist or Licensed Marriage and/or Family Therapist. Five (5) years management experience in a Local Mental Health Authority. (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LP, PMHNP) with good standing and primary-source verification maintained annually.
5+ years progressive leadership in crisis, diversion, or justice-involved behavioral health programs; experience with law enforcement and court collaboration strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in program performance measurement, Continuous Quality Improvement, and HHSC reporting.
Working knowledge of Texas TAC, HIPAA, and HHSC standards for privacy/security and reporting.
Preferred experience with Corpus Christi/Nueces County criminal justice stakeholders.

The program Director must have knowledge of the following:

- Identifying measures or indicators of program and staff performance
- Operating a computer and use of applicable software (MS Office products, Smart Care, MBOW, and CMBHS databases)
- To gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts
- To establish goals and objectives
- To devise solutions to administrative problems
- To develop, evaluate, and interpret administrative policies and procedures
