Part Time Certified Medical Assistant

Certified Medical Assistant needed for a busy OB/GYN practice. Must have a least 1 year experience working in a medical practice and knowledge of electronic health records.

• Ensures that all recent labs and diagnostic tests are in the chart prior to the provider seeing the patient.
• Ensures that each exam room has adequate supplies to complete all necessary procedures and keeps all exam rooms clean.
• Interviews the patient to obtain information related to why the patient is here, obtains vital signs, and weight. Escorts patient to the exam room and notifies the provider that the patient is ready.
• Prepare and administer injections as directed by a physician.
• Assists physicians in examinations and/or treatment of patients. (handing them instruments and materials).
• Verify all requests for drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. Remaining compliant with OSHA and the Health Department standards as per company manuals.
• Contact medical facilities or ancillary departments to schedule patients for tests or admission as ordered by the provider.
• Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies and equipment on a monthly basis. Follows office policy and procedure regarding disposal of expired supplies and medications, etc.
• Completes all other assignments as assigned including but not limited to call backs, diagnostic results and lab duties.
• Customer Service – Greets all patients with a smile, listens intently and responds politely in a timely manner. Ensures patient needs are met at all times and treats everyone with respect.
• Work amicably with others.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Pay:
From $14.00 per hour
