Job Summary

Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi invites applications for Assistant Director, CBI Analytics and Technology Solutions. The role leads the development and management of advanced data platforms and IT infrastructure to support research and operational goals, oversees a software engineering and development team, provides scientific leadership on sponsored projects, and secures external funding.

Corpus Christi, Texas. Salary up to $8,666.68 monthly (approximately $104,000 annually).

• IT Management (35%): develop, implement, and evaluate IT policies and procedures; oversee compliance; prepare budget estimates; hire, train, and supervise IT staff; manage project teams; provide training and mentorship; facilitate Agile processes; improve IT services.
• Software Development Lead & Programming (25%): develop software project roadmaps; oversee backlogs; facilitate stakeholder meetings; design, build, deploy, and release resources in Azure and AWS; determine system design and technology; establish development guidelines and practices.
• Principal Investigation (20%): secure and manage sponsored projects; coordinate budgets; approve schedules and deliverables; direct decisions on software and computing equipment; prepare project deliverables; onboard new sponsors.
• Data Specialist (15%): coordinate technical contributions to publications; develop tools to store and process big data on the HPC cluster; assist researchers and students; optimize and automate tasks; provide training; develop reports, analyses, and visualizations.
• Communication & Collaboration (5%): communicate project requirements and timelines; maintain open communication channels; represent the department; perform special projects.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Six years of software development experience, including three years in IT and three years in project management or principal investigator roles.
• Proficiency in system design, Git, NodeJS, Python, Docker, RESTful APIs, Angular, Tailwind
  
  CSS, Postgre
  
  SQL/PostGIS, MySQL, ESRI APIs, Type Script, Flutter/Dart, Swift.
• Experience as a data specialist (SLURM, Python for data science, ETL).
• Proficiency in project management (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
• Proficiency in Dev Ops (Docker, Azure, AWS, CI/CD).
• Proficiency in system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows Server, Azure, AWS, Nginx, Apache, Ansible, Terraform).

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Product Owner (CPO).
