Facilities Custodian

Summary

Columbia Electric Supply is looking for a Facilities Custodian Helper. The facilities Custodian Helper will be responsible for helping our facilities custodian.

The successful candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented; and have the ability to see what needs to be done with little direct supervision.

Reports to:

Warehouse Manager

• Must have knowledge of professional cleaning procedures and products in a commercial environment and demonstrated experience in custodial duties.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions including email/text
• Ability to communicate effectively

Preferred 2 to 4 years of previous experience in a facilities role

Warehouse environment and outdoor conditions including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures.

• Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance on all systems.
• Perform monitoring and oversight of systems, primarily HVAC Controls, and Security/Fire Alarm system.
• Manage the contracts for landscaping and snow removal services
• Vacuum carpets and remove stains as necessary. Move light furniture to access carpet vacuuming.
• Empty all waste containers, insert liners as required, remove and deposit trash in designated containers.
• Remove all flattened cardboard and place in designated locations.
• Restock towels and soap in break areas.
• Perform heavy work such as: unloading and transferring of supplies and equipment and moving and re-arranging furniture and equipment
• Replace any lights out within facility or arrange service
• Responsible for snow removal of areas within a defined area of the building
• Cleans restrooms as necessary and restocks paper and soap supplies
• Maintain lawns at facilities, including mowing each facility.
• Maintain the lowering/raising of the flag when necessary.
• Understanding of and compliance with procedures relating to infection control and effective cleaning methods.
• Maintain knowledge of the safe application of chemicals and products used
