ABOUT CORPUS CHRISTI COUNTRY CLUB AND COMMUNITYFounded in 1909, Corpus Christi Country Club has been a cornerstone of private club life in South Texas for more than a century. Rich in tradition and deeply connected to the Corpus Christi community, the Club has evolved across generations while remaining a welcoming gathering place where members and their families build lasting relationships and enjoy an active, engaging lifestyle. Its history includes notable moments, including a ceremonial first tee shot by President William Howard Taft and a longstanding golf heritage that has welcomed some of the game's most accomplished players.
The Club's current home on Everhart Road opened in 1965, anchored by an 18-hole golf course originally designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. In 2022, the course underwent a significant renovation led by golf course architect Chet Williams, modernizing the greens, bunkers, fairways, and select teeing areas while preserving a design well suited to the natural character of the South Texas coastal plain.
Throughout its history, Corpus Christi Country Club has hosted an impressive collection of professional and amateur golf events, including competitions associated with the South Texas PGA, LPGA, Ben Hogan Tour, and Texas Golf Association. Today, a robust calendar of member tournaments, leagues, instruction, and junior programming continues the Club's strong golf tradition.
Beyond golf, Corpus Christi Country Club offers a comprehensive collection of recreational and lifestyle amenities designed for the entire family. The Club features ten renovated lighted tennis courts—including Italian red clay, Pro-Cushion, and hard courts—as well as four pickleball courts and an accomplished professional racquets staff. A major renovation of the tennis facilities was completed in 2022, and the facility subsequently received the United States Tennis Association's 2023 Outstanding Tennis Facility Award.
Members also enjoy a five-lane, 50-yard swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness center, diverse dining experiences, and a year-round calendar of social activities and special events.
At its heart, Corpus Christi Country Club is defined as much by its people and sense of community as by its facilities. Generations of families have celebrated milestones, developed friendships, competed together, and made the Club an extension of their homes. With a heritage spanning more than 115 years, thoughtfully enhanced facilities, and a commitment to hospitality, recreation, and meaningful member experiences, Corpus Christi Country Club continues to build upon its distinguished legacy while positioning itself for an exciting future.
