Production Technician (Open) – Corpus Christi, TX

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Joining Air Liquide as a Production Technician: The Production Technician is responsible for maintaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety. This role supports the daily operation of our gas production facility, ensuring reliability and adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements.

Job Duties
  • Apply understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies to protect the team.
  • Model a shared safety culture, demonstrating safety‑minded behavior and supporting safety practices.
  • Work safely and conscientiously in all situations.
  • Identify potential maintenance needs and enter them into the work‑order maintenance system (Maximo).
  • Perform work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing Current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements (e.g., safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry, hot work, plant safety inspections).
  • Collaborate with contractors, visitors, and co‑workers to support compliance with company safety policies and procedures; issue safe work permit documentation and perform lock‑out/tag‑out of equipment.
  • Grow knowledge and ability in plant operations, processes, and equipment.
  • Show interest in instrumentation and mechanical systems.
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures, corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISO, simple schematics, P&IDs, and electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.
  • Keep accurate records and remain diligent in documentation and record‑retention policies.
  • Apply knowledge of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
  • Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and operations preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to and promote high housekeeping and organizational standards.
  • Support additional team needs as requested by Plant Management.
  • Complete all other duties based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical associate’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of technical training or operations experience.
  • Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations).
  • Knowledge of proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; self‑motivated attitude.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills for dealing effectively with management and external customers.
  • Qualifications in operation of forklift, man‑lift, and overhead crane preferred.
  • Highly organized; able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, FRC clothing).
  • Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders and work off elevated platforms or surfaces.
  • Able to work in a non‑conditioned environment for extended periods.
  • Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing, and work.
