Essential Functions
Maintains, operates and checks the operations sanitary and stormwater lift stations, primary and secondary wastewater plant processes and other functions related to pump stations and wastewater treatment plant; operates pumps, valves and other equipment by hand or mechanical means to regulate the flow of wastewater through various primary and secondary processes to assure maximum efficiency of plant equipment. Collects samples of water and wastewater and performs standardized control tests;
adjusts chemical feed equipment to ensure compliance with standards; performs record‑keeping functions. Reads meters, gauges and computerized systems. Performs routine and higher‑level operation and maintenance tasks at plant and pump station facilities and grounds.
High school diploma or GED supplemented by a minimum of one year of water/wastewater treatment experience or an Associate degree in a related field OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully perform this job. Must have a valid Class D driver’s license to drive City vehicles and be able to pass a 50‑pound lift test.
Must be able to work rotating shifts and be on call on occasion. Experience at Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant is desirable.
