Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Position Summary InformationJob Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist the Corporate Services team primarily with social media marketing as well as any other public relations, advertising and marketing activities the department requires.
Minimum Qualifications- Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
- Fields of study may include:
Communications, Journalism, News & Storytelling, Marketing, Public Relations, or English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop publishing software.
- Ability to create and assist in the development of professionally written documents suitable for multiple audiences.
- Familiarity with web page formatting.
- Skilled in the use of general graphic design.
- Demonstrate ability to use journalistic storytelling techniques and copy editing.
- Reliable in completing assigned projects in a polished and timely manner.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud

- Create graphics and content for social media.
- Design and develop flyers, brochures and other promotional content for online and print.
- Research business stories to tell, relevant industry news, trending industry topics and industry influences.
- Write articles, press releases and social media content for internal (employees) and external (media, customers) consumption.
- Update department website when required using the Content Management System ( CMS ).
