Community Disaster Program Specialist

• Provide support to Disaster Program management and leadership within the Victoria, TX/Corpus Christi Region
• Support Disaster Program management and volunteer workforce, focusing on volunteer engagement and direct assistance to recurring local disasters such as home fires and floods
• Support specific functions at the direction of a regional functional manager when assigned
• Guide and support trained volunteers
• Implement initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program and service delivery
• Facilitate volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming and functional activities
• Assist with implementation of disaster cycle services program activities or functions
• Monitor, collect, and analyze business data to improve services
• Engage disaster volunteers representative of the communities they serve culturally and linguistically
• Support development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers for disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery
• Participate in regional disaster response operations after completing training requirements
• Work daily in the assigned geographic area to engage and mobilize communities and support volunteers
• Deploy to disaster relief operations outside the region at least once a year

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
• Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
• Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to develop project plans and budgets
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to work outside regular duty hours, including nights and weekends
• Employees must complete required training and meet physical capacity requirements for deployment
• Regional disaster employees are required to deploy outside their region at least once a year
• Must work daily in the assigned geographic area to engage and mobilize communities and support volunteers

Demonstrates expertise in disaster program management, volunteer engagement, and community mobilization, with a strong focus on service delivery and operational support. Proficient in data analysis and project planning to enhance disaster readiness and response initiatives.
