• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (may increase to 1:6 for low acuity patients)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience (2+ years preferred)
• Experience in Level II or Level III trauma centers required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• One of the following: TNCC, ENPC, or PALS certification
• CEN or TCRN, CPI certifications preferred
• Strong clinical skills in compassion, urgency, and teamwork
• EMTALA training (required upon hire)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, timely emergency care to patients across all ESI levels (1-5)
• Conduct patient assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertion, urine collection, and lab draws
• Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HPs, Tonopen, and other emergency department equipment
• Participate in mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm (unless providing critical care)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, triage nurses, techs, and multidisciplinary healthcare support staff
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on patient satisfaction and engagement
