General Purpose of the Job
The Staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a select group of patients/families for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients during admission, Phase 1 and Phase 2 anesthesia up to and including transfer/discharge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred
- Current RN License in the state of Texas
- Bilingual preferred
- Pediatric experience required
- Critical care experience preferred
- Current licensure in the state of Texas
- CPR Certification
- Unit‑specific certification:
Certified Post‑Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Per‑Anesthesia Nurse (CAPA); must test for exam qualification. - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Phase I Recovery Staff
