Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room setting. Ensures patient safety, prepares surgical sites, and supports surgical teams through various procedures to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preoperative assessments and verify patient information and readiness for surgery.
• Prepare and maintain sterile environment and surgical instruments for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and operating room staff during various surgeries, including neurosurgery, urology, general surgery, colorectal, plastics, podiatry, ENT, and ortho.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes as needed.
• Follow unit policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety protocols to maintain compliance and quality standards.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and/or CST certification.
• At least 1 year of surgical or operating room experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments with a motivated and team-oriented mindset.
• Maintain compliance with hospital dress code and safety policies.
