Well Med, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Northwest Blvd clinic in Corpus Christi, TX. Optum is a clinician‑led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.
As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you will be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.
Position Highlights- Quality vs. quantity – typically see 15 to 16 patients per day
- Providers are measured and rewarded on quality of care rather than RVU or volume metrics
- Start with 23 days of PTO per year, plus 5 days for CME; clinics are closed for 8 national holidays plus one floating holiday
- Strong clinical support team that includes RNs, LVNs, MAs, nurse educators, case managers, clinic administrators, referral managers, coders, centralized scheduling, nurse advice line, and robust IT
- Collaborate with our primary care physicians (IM & FM), hospitalists, and a network of employed/contracted sub‑specialists

- Base salary plus an annual quality bonus with a target of $15,000

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 to $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and a bonus, based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role.
Required Qualifications- Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or licensed physician assistant by the Texas State Medical Board
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment
- Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare‑aged patient population
- Working understanding and support of a managed care environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
- At least one year of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
