Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

JOB SUMMARY

To provide direct patient care within the Endoscopy unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves collecting data, assisting with procedures, and collaborating with the healthcare team.

• Perform data collection and documentation related to patient care.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during endoscopic procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation as needed and monitor patients.
• Manage patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and post-procedure care.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment.
• Operate and maintain Olympus endoscopic equipment.
• Reprocess scopes adhering to HLD standards.

• Monday – Friday, 8‑hour shifts.
• Call coverage is required.

• Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience in Endoscopy.
• Experience with moderate sedation.

• Experience with Meditech EMR system.
• Experience with High‑Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing.

• RN License

• Previous RN experience in an Endoscopy setting is required.
• Experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation.

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong bedside manner.
• Proficient in collaborating with physicians and anesthesia providers.

Patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

• Floating to Corpus Christi Medical Center-Bay Area may be required.
• On‑call duties include overnight call approximately 2 weeks per month, with 2 full weekends per month. Call schedule is variable.
