Veterinarian – Southside Animal Hospital

We are looking for an associate veterinarian to join our team at Southside Animal Hospital in South Texas, with a sign‑on bonus of $50,000.

Salary
: USD $115,000 – $140,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.

Southside Animal Hospital is the only clinic in South Texas with a wellness waiting and a sick waiting area, including an isolation ward. We provide high‑quality medical and veterinary care, supported by experienced staff and modern equipment:

  • 5 exam rooms (two with lift tables)
  • Surgery suite with separate dental table
  • Digital radiology (including digital dental rads)

Role Details

We welcome new graduates or experienced veterinarians and encourage collaboration with our senior team. All experience levels are welcome to help manage preventative care, internal medicine, imaging, surgery, urgent care, and behavior.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples; interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel regarding pet end‑of‑life care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous presentation to staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 lbs, or over 25 lbs with assistance.
