What role you will play in our teamThe primary duty of the Unit Inspector is to develop, plan, and administer inspection programs that ensure the mechanical integrity of plant fixed equipment. This is done through routine monitoring programs and scheduled internal and external inspections. The aim of the Unit Inspector is to provide the necessary information so that repair and replacement work is done on a planned versus a reactive basis.
The Unit Inspector provides Quality Assurance inspection support by helping to ensure that quality control programs are functioning properly by consulting on significant failures or repairs. In this role, the Unit Inspector will work with the Maintenance Execution FLS and 3P Quality Control Inspectors (QC), assisting in times of high workloads or with unusual fixed equipment problems. The Unit Inspector maintains the fixed equipment records systems for his or her unit(s).

What you will do- Develop and administer Unit Inspection Plans and programs.
- Provide Quality Assurance support/guidance as requested to ensure code compliance and quality
- Conduct external and internal equipment inspections
- Ensures strict compliance to Texas State Boiler Law and Title V (IFR)
- Document all inspections and update scheduled events (CREDO)
- Preview and analyze inspection results for input into the equipment strategy development process and to identify increased inspection tasks or coverage where needed to maintain mechanical integrity
- Coordinate/monitor planned NDE activities
- Develop long range inspection plans and coordinate with operational plans
- Provide input to AMP
- Schedule required regulatory/statutory inspections
- Coordinate the review and approval of inspection exemptions
- Validate thickness raw data to ensure compliance (ES/GIP)
- Radiography interpretation/reviews
- Review and approve all NDE results for acceptance and/or repair
- Review for acceptance API repair, alteration documentation/file
- Witness/approve code hydrotest
- Review/approve PMIV data
- Analyze corrosion data and update inspection intervals
- Ensure that the inspection records are updated
- Evaluate the installation of repairs (temporary or permanent), rerates and alterations
- Review/approve repairs (temporary or permanent), rerates and alteration packages/FEWA process
- Review Hot Tap engineering packages/field execution
Skills and qualifications:
To be considered for an inspection position the applicant shall meet the following skill and knowledge criteria:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Three (3) years minimum Inspection experience in the Petrochemical Industry, or three (3) years industry-related work experience or college level technical degree
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Fundamental written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of the Site Safety Standards and the site work permit system
- Corrosion mechanisms and monitoring
